"Actions speak louder than words..."
Angel was born Louise Sabater in Bronx, New York where she was raised. She began her singing endeavors when she participated in various community talent shows at local community centers in the Bronx and other talent showcases in New York. Angel then attended The School of Theatrical Arts, which she received a scholarship to attend. Angel frequented various nightclubs in New York and decided to audition for a new girl group that was being formed by several freestyle producers. Together they were out to create a 1980's Latin version of the 1960's legendary group the Supremes.

A talent search was held at the Devil's Nest Night Club in the Bronx. Angel auditioned and was chosen to become the lead singer of the group out of 300 other females. The group was named “The Cover Girls” and included Angel, Caroline Jackson and Sunshine Wright who was later replaced with Margo Urban.

Fever Records released The Cover Girls debut album entitled “Show Me” in 1987. An album release party was held at the popular New York City Night Club 1018 where Angel and the girls performed tracks from their new album. The event also featured a performance by a little eight-year-old “Lil Suzy”. The debut album contained many now classic freestyle hit singles such as “Because of You”, Inside Outside” and “Show Me”.
